Os Vencedores do 49ª NAACP Image Awards
Em 12 de Fevereiro de 1909 um grupo de ativistas chamados The Call fundou a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ou Associação Nacional para o Progresso de Pessoas Não-Brancas em tradução livre, a NAACP como ficou conhecida. A mais antiga e mais influente organização pela luta dos direitos civis de minorias nos Estados Unidos.

Em
1970 foi criado o NAACP Image Awards uma premiação que visa exaltar os negros
mais influentes daquele ano em categorias relacionadas as artes como Cinema,
Televisão, Música e Literatura. Ontem, dia 15 de janeiro, também comemorado o
dia de Martin Luther King nos Estados Unidos foi realizada a 49ª entrega do
